Review: I just bought my first Harley. I went in
determined to get a Road King, but before I left I
had purchased an 09 Street Glide and I couldn't be
happier. I love the bike! Although I will say it
shakes more than I thought it would at idle
considering all the improvements Harley has made
in this area. Also, I'm not too keen on the key
operating everything and also being
interchangeable with other Harley owners bikes.
This is not a knock on the model, as all Harley's
are like that. I think Harley needs to get with
the program as far as anti-theft and water-cooled
engines, which I understand is coming in 2010.
Other than that, a really fun motorcycle. I can't
stop wanting to take it out every day. Once it
warms up, I'll be on it all summer long. Great
bike! It's a bit pricey though for a bike that is
air-cooled. But there's just something about a
Harley.... Features: Radio (with weather band), CD Player w iPod jack, trickle charger adapter, full instrumentation (although the air temp gauge is kind of worthless - swap it for an oil temp gauge), the sleek drawn look from front to back, locking bags, and a comfy seat. Improvements: Auxiliary lighting as standard equipment. It is afterall, a safety feature. Water cooling, which I know is coming and is needed by Harleys more than any other bike. A horn that isn't so wimpy. Also, exhaust that is a tad louder and throaty (again, a safety feature, and it's what we pay for on a Harley anyway). Overall, not much to improve on, just a few little things. (01/25/2009 by Mike)
