| Last week I put my inboard/outboard speedboat in
the water for the first time this season. The
second I turned the key I could tell there was a
major problem with the engine. Upon closer
inspection I discovered that the engine block had
cracked over the winter. Sport-O-Motive had
improperly winterized the engine and failed to
drain all the water and add anti-freeze.
I spoke with the owner of Sport-O-Motive, Jerry
Deering, and he said there's no way I can prove
that anti-freeze wasn't added. He then accused me
of possibly using the boat after they had
winterized it. Having been around boats my entire
life, I was very insulted that he suggested I had
done such a thing.
I am now in the process of taking Sport-O-Motive
to small claims court to get them to pay for the
engine they improperly winterized.

| I do not recommend doing any business with
Sport-O-Motive. I had a sterndrive speedboat
winterized by them and they caused some cosmetic
damage to the paint on the drive. After bringing
the damage to their attention they refused to
accept any responsibility. Prior to having
Sport-O-Motive service the boat they insisted that
they were insured in the event the boat incurred
any damage while in their posession. When I
called this to their attention they said I never
signed a written document stating that their
insurance would cover any damage to my boat. I
left with a damaged boat and it cost me $164.00 to
repair the damage they had done, and that's on top
on the $210.00 bill they charged me for the
service.
