August 31, 2009 - service and quality of work
My name is Winn Marchbanks and I own a 2006 sportsman 500 EFI with 130 hours on it. My ECM went out and I dropped it off at Albany Tractor. I specifically requested that the service department fix what was wrong with the ECM, change the oil, and also to check over the whole machine for anything other repairs that needed to be addressed. The machine stayed there for 2 1/2 months due to high bill and came back to pick it up I received a bill for 675 dollars which included the ECM, an oil change, and labor (expected),but after I inspected the machine they did not fix the broken headlight,I found a wheel bearing that is loose or has gone bad, and the starter did not work. The technicians blamed it on it sitting and after a week they still do not have it running nor have they bothered to contact my and inform me regarding any other problems. After I contacted them the service manager told me that the fuel pump had gone out and the only reason he could come up with for this occurring was condensation in the fuel tank. I spoke with an Ed (a manager ?) this afternoon late afternoon who said he would find out what was going on and contact me back. (I still have not heard from him as of 8/31/09 at 8:30 pm and i do not understand how a fuel pump can go out from just sitting.) I am concerned that the fault of the service technician not doing what I requested for them to do is going to result in a more costly expense than I anticipated when all I expected to be fixed was the ECM, an oil change, labor, and cosmetic repairs. Please look into this and let me know what we can do to get this situation remedied.
