2011 Yamaha Apex XTX

SUMMARY

The 2011 Yamaha Apex XTX is a Performance Style Snowmobile equipped with an 998cc, Liquid Cooled, Horizontal In-line, DOHC, 4-Stroke Engine and a Continuously Variable (CVT) Transmission.

It has a Independent Double Wishbone Front Suspension with 9 inches of travel. The Dual Shock CK Rear Suspension has 14.5 inches of travel with a Remote Adjustment. The Apex XTX has Rear Hydraulic Disc Brakes.

The Apex XTX was introduced in 2006 and is Carryover for 2011. It includes a 12 month Limited warranty.

This is my first and probably last Yamaha. Its not very good for back country riding (very top heavy) stock carbides need to be changed (darting) and the first set of hyfax where burnt off at 78 miles. Yamaha said that the hyfax issue is fixed for 2012 but they won’t help out those who bought 2011 xtx. Now for the good, great trail sled (with duel carbides) good wind protection on the lakes, starts good in cold, good power.

Solid machine. Best Yamaha I have riden. Absolutely love the 144 inch track! It handles well in a variety of snow conditions to include the ditch. Unlike previous Apex's, there is no shoulder fatigue after riding over 150 miles due to the electronic power steering. It corners much better than previous models but is still heavy when compared to the 800 E-Tec.
