| Review: I now have 1700 miles on my 09 Ninja 650R and it
is still an excellent bike. It's all broken in now
and runs great. Takes corners quite well although
I think grippier tires would be great for obvious
reasons. Cranks EVERY time and is so easy and
forgiving it should be an instant hit with all
beginning riders. Gas mileage is approx 45mpg. The
seat is good for 2hrs or so of riding (maybe I'm
getting used to it). No complaints overall. |
| Features: - styling
- upright seating
- gas gauge
- tossability
|
| Improvements: - again, lack of storage
- needs more of an accessories market like beetle bags, custom seats etc
- must remove the gas tank to change air filter, hmmmmm. |

| Review: I did a lot or research and settled on an 09 Ninja
650R. I'm a newbie so take the review for what
it's worth. I'm 5'10" and 210lbs. Bike is a great
size and weight for me. Has more than enough power
in low rpms to keep you ahead of traffic. Still
breaking the bike in though. The seat is quite
comfortable and decent for a 2-3 hour trip. Not as
comfortable as a cruiser seat but waaaayyyyyy more
comfortable than a out and out race bike. Decent
on gas and gets lots of comments and stares.
Seating position is more akin to a standard than a
sportbike (a big plus). Overall, as a first bike
I've owned, it is practically perfect....for now.
As for reliability, if it's like previous
generations of Ninja's, should be fine. Too early
to tell so I'll give it 5 stars. |
| Features: -comfortable seat
-EFI - cranks every time
- upright seating position
- fuel guage
- adjustable clutch lever
- fuel guage
- adjustable brake lever
- oh, fuel guage
- looks oh, so sexy. |
| Improvements: - only enough storage for your manual and a few hopes and dreams
- fairing could do a slightly better job keeping wind off of you but hey, probably the seating position. |
