PAYMENT CALCULATORKEY DIFFERENTIATORSPARTS/ACCESSORIESREVIEWS/AWARDSRiding stock my tailbone gets sore after long rides too, but with the 2up seat on, it is much more comfy. I too have shaved the bottom of my bike taking corners - especially with a girl on the back. I've adjusted my riding and stopped bottoming while turning. I think the bike should come with forward controls - my legs were black and blue my first week on this bike from those damn pegs. City and HWY riding is aawesome - the small tank is scary if you ride a bit aggressive, I'll not get 60 miles (100km) before the fuel light comes on sometimes...YIKES. I've considered putting on a Sportster tank (bigger) and then decided that changing it really takes away from the whole look - I might have to buy a cruiser for distance and keep the Nightster as a bar hopper!
Other than a sore tailbone after long rides, I have had absolutely no problem with my Nightster. It takes curves and corners very smoothly. Those riders that say there is too little lean before it begins dragging the peg are obviously exaggerating their lean, as I have taken extremely sharp curves and have never dragged the peg, although I could if I chose to do so. The problem with the small gas tank (3.3 gallons) is also exaggerated. I get well over 100 miles before the fuel light comes on, and I have driven enough miles with the fuel light on to say I can safely go between 150 and 180 miles on one tank. I have ridden with large groups and do not need to stop any sooner than they do, as even though they have larger fuel tanks, they get lower gas mileage. The bike is also an excellent cruiser, as I have been on long trips, and it rides very smoothly at between 70-80 mph. Obviously, forward pegs and back support, as well as a windshield, make the trip much more enjoyable. I'll be making a trip to Virginia from southern South Carolina and a trip to Indiana sometime this Summer. From my perspective, the Nightster can do anything other motorcycles can do, other than be a racing bike, which it obviously isn't built for.
