Review: I purchased a new 2008 Heritage Softail Classic in white gold pearl for $20,800. The dealership would not dicker price at all stating it sells for what it is marked, you are not buying a car. I had not bought a new Harley since purchasing my 1975 FXE Superglide shovel head for $3,300.00. Riding the Heritage Softail was a sudden leap into the present for me. The power of the 96 cubic inch engine was there at a twist of the throttle. The six speed transmission was tight and slipped into sixth gear easily at 60 mph. Below 60 mph it is best to stay in 5th. The ride was smooth and very easy on my 220 pound frame. To say this motorcycle is easy to ride is an understatement. The fuel injection and walk away security system is a major improvement over the bikes of the past. I highly recommend the Heritage Softail Classic to anyone looking for the vintage look of an old bike but blended with the modern technology of the new millennium !

Features: Smooth ride easy handling with quick response. Milage per gallon is acceptable considering the size of the engine. Looks great and gets many positive comments.

Improvements: Pant leg gets caught on heal shifter when you have to stop and put your left leg down. This occures almost everytime. The gas tank must be filled almost to the brim to get a full reading on the gas gauge. Horn can be a bit difficult to find in an emergency (you hit the turn signal)! These concerns are small compared to the overall performance of the machine.
