Review: Bought new Oct/06. Took awhile to get used to as shocks had been set to most rigid setting and not caught at pre service inspection. Felt like it was going to flip on bumpy trails. Also, due to small track, it is not effective at trail breaking. Icing is also a big problem due to muffler over open track. Took it in for oil change in Oct/07; was told that Yamaha would pay for plate to enclose tunnel, would start calling customers in January or I could wait till next oil change. I called dealer in Oct/08 for oil change & plate; was told that it was a limited time offer that expired. Bought 3 new machines from them in 12 months and this is how they treat you.

Features: Awesome motor, fuel economy around 21 mpg Canadian. Rider foreward position makes handling sudden bumps painless and maintains better control. I used my Yamabucks to put on the large windshield and air deflectors as -40 isn't uncommon in Manitoba. Adjustable shocks are great and because of the rider foreward position, carrying a passenger is possible.

Improvements: I've always felt that a backup manual start would be good idea. The layout could be more owner friendly as well. As it is, you can't change your own oil and filter. Panels are a real pain when the machine is covered in ice. An easy open cowling with everything at your fingertips instills more peace of mind. I don't even know where the spark plugs are.
